Pamela Hewitt is accredited by the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) and has worked in editing and publishing for over 30 years. After an in-house career in educational, academic, and public sector editing, she established a freelance editorial practice focusing on memoir, fiction and creative non-fiction. Many titles she has edited have won major literary awards. She is active in editing communities in Australia and internationally, and has judged national editing awards.

Pamela coordinated the editing and publishing program at the University of Southern Queensland from 2011 to 2015 and has lectured at many other universities and colleges. She has presented editing and writing courses for IPEd branches around Australia, the National Book Council of Singapore, the New Zealand Society of Authors, Writing NSW, the Australian Society of Authors, Sydney Story Factory, and many other organisations. She is currently developing online courses for editors, writers and translators.
